Typical Steps in a Commercial Solar Project

Commercial Solar Installation Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Just click here or call (203) 255-3714 to be connected with one of our solar experts. By providing some basic information about your site, your current electricity usage, and your future goals and needs, we’ll be able to provide a preliminary assessment of the possibilities you can reasonably expect to achieve with a new solar energy system.

Step 2: Comprehensive Site Evaluation

We’ll send one of our experts to your business to perform a thorough, no-obligation evaluation. During this visit, we will identify and verify specific site conditions that will factor into the design and implementation of your system.

Step 3: Solar System Design & Review

We will design a solar system that is specifically tailored to your site conditions. We will consider your current and future objectives and provide a financial and technical analysis of the proposed project. Assuming conditions permit, we’ll show you how the various incentives, Z-REC programs, and accounting techniques can help you achieve a low-risk, high-yield return on your investment.

Step 4: Contract

After all questions have been answered, and you are fully prepared and comfortable to proceed, we will draw up a contract for your review and approval.

Step 5: Preparing for Installation

Prior to actual installation, there are several actions that need to be completed. They include incentive applications, necessary engineering studies, building permits, and interconnection agreements. Sun-Wind Solutions handles this entire process and these activities are all included in the price of your contract.

Step 6: Installation

Once final designs and applications are in place, our team will proceed with your installation. Installation time varies based on the size and scope of your project. Upon completion, we will review the entire system with you and your team.

Step 7: Inspections and Commissioning of Your System

Two final inspections are required prior to going “live” with your system. They include a building / electrical inspection and a witness test by your local utility company.
